This Year, We're Skipping the Call for Committees

A quick note on how to get involved with PyCon DE & PyData 2027
Every year around this time we open a Call for Committees, our invitation for new people to join the team that organises PyCon DE. This year, we're doing something we've never done before: we're skipping it.
Here's the happy reason why. As we start building PyCon DE 2027 in Heidelberg, almost everyone from the 2026 team has signed up to do it all over again. That's a wonderful vote of confidence in this community, and it also means we simply don't have open seats on the organising team right now.
So if you were planning to raise your hand and join the crew this year: I'm genuinely sorry. Please know it's not a "no" forever. Teams change from year to year, and we'd love to have you when a spot opens up.
But don't close this tab just yet, because there are still two brilliant ways to help shape the conference:
Call for Reviewers. Help us read, rate, and select the talks that make up the programme. It's one of the most direct ways to influence what happens on stage.
Call for Volunteers. Join the team that makes the event run on-site, from welcoming attendees to keeping sessions on track. It's also one of the best ways to get to know the community from the inside.
Both calls are coming soon. Keep an eye on our website and channels, and we'll share exactly how to sign up. If you were thinking about the organising team, please consider volunteering instead. :D
Thank you, as always, for wanting to be part of this. See you in Heidelberg.
