PyCon DE 2027 Is Live
published: · by
PyCon DE 2027 is officially live. Tickets are on sale as of today, our program and diversity teams are already hard at work, and the other teams are getting set up to build the next chapter of PyCon DE in Heidelberg. Our goal is clear: take PyCon DE to another level.
Here's what's already in place, and what's coming.
Tickets: four editions, four shirts
Every three-day pass belongs to one of four editions: Early Bird, Blind Bird, Wise Bird and Late Bird. Each edition comes with its own T-shirt design. The shirts are custom made in the exact number sold: no reprints, no shirts at the door. Edition I is limited to 150 tickets, and once an edition closes, it never reopens.
Our promise stays simple: no ticket will ever be sold cheaper than the one before it. No promo codes, no last-minute offers. The earlier you buy, the less you pay.
Get your ticket and pick your T-shirt size with care.
Why Heidelberg
Heidelberg is a place where industry, academia and research meet. It's home to Germany's oldest university, world-class research institutes, and a thriving tech and startup scene across the Rhine-Neckar region. Few cities bring these worlds together so closely, and that's exactly the mix PyCon DE has always thrived on.
The week at a glance
- Monday, 19 April: Masterclasses and Django Girls
- Tuesday–Thursday, 20–22 April: Conference at the Heidelberg Congress Center
- Friday–Saturday, 23–24 April: Sprints and hackathons
Masterclasses
Monday is a full day of hands-on Masterclasses in small groups. The first classes are already announced: pytest tips and tricks with Freya Bruhin, connecting your backend to a database with Kristian Rother, and Rust for Python developers with Rodrigo Girão Serrão. More Masterclasses will follow. See all Masterclasses.
Sprints and hackathons
The sprint days are confirmed, and we're thrilled that open-source heavyweights scikit-learn and spaCy have committed to join. Many more projects, big and small, will be confirmed soon: the call for sprint projects opens on 23 October. Learn more about the sprints.
Hackathons are on the way too. The first one, CHiLI, brings computational linguistics students together around politics and language technology, and more will be announced. See hackathons and satellite events.
PyLadies and Django Girls
PyLadies will be back at PyCon DE, and we'll once again host a free, beginner-friendly Django Girls workshop on Monday. Both are a core part of how we make PyCon DE welcoming for everyone.
New: bring your initiative
New this year, you can apply with your own initiative around the conference. A workshop, a meetup, a community project, or something we haven't thought of yet: we welcome every initiative that shares our values and goals, and we'd love to hear from you. Selection is ongoing, so reach out early via the contact form. Submissions close on 21 February 2027.
What's next
The Call for Proposals for conference sessions opens on 4 November 2026. Calls for reviewers and volunteers will follow soon. Follow us on X, LinkedIn, or Mastodon, or subscribe to our newsletter to stay in the loop.
See you in Heidelberg.
