Rust PyO3 Performance

Rust for Python Developers — Full-Day Masterclass

Rust is taking the Python tooling world by storm and in this workshop you'll understand why. Come learn the fundamentals of Rust programming, including the characteristics that make it a language so performant and safe.

By the end of this masterclass you'll have written your first Rust programs and you'll have learned how to set up a Rust project so that it can be used and called from within Python.

Who Should Attend

Experienced developers with no Rust experience. You are expected to be an experienced programmer in one or more languages (e.g., Python), but no prior Rust experience is required or assumed.

What You'll Learn

  • The differences between interpreted and compiled languages, what a compiler does, and how to compile Rust
  • How to create and manage a Rust project
  • How to write Rust code using Rust-specific features like ownership and borrowing
  • How to use PyO3 to make your Rust code callable from within Python

Every learning block spends 40–60% of the time on actual coding exercises, working alone or in pairs.

What to Bring

A laptop with the Rust toolchain installed.
